cajones, in singular: cajón. Is a sliding receptacle in a dresser or desk normally call DRAWER.

abre los cajones - open the drawers
está en los cajones - is in the drawers
checa en los cajones - check in the drawers

mmmm... i don't know how to explain the pronunciation. But is very simple. All the letters sounds the same no matter what. You just have to know the alphabet. If you know the sounds of every letter of the alphabet, you know how to read in spanish.
